Enterprise Open Source Session Building an SOA Infrastructure on Open Source Technologies
Building an SOA Infrastructure on Open Source Technologies
Jun. 5, 2006 11:00 AM
Open source technologies have played a role in Web services and SOA for years. As large commercial vendors introduce more extensive open source SOA solutions and traditional open source providers broaden their solutions to address more SOA requirements, it is now possible to build an enterprise-ready infrastructure for service-based integration on an open source foundation. This session introduces the requirements for an open source SOA technology stack, including integration of disparate components, SOA standards and operational requirements, plus key requirements for any open source solution: technical maturity, quality of support, breadth of acceptance, and fit with commercial operations.
About Bruce SnyderBruce Snyder is a 10-year veteran of enterprise software development and a recognized leader in open source software. Bruce has experience in a wide range of technologies, focusing mainly on Java EE and more recently ESBs and SOA. In addition to his role as a Leader of Client Technical Services for LogicBlaze, Bruce is also a founding member of Apache Geronimo (http://geronimo.apache.org/), a lead developer for the Castor project (http://www.castor.org/), and a developer for the WADI project (http://incubator.apache.org/projects/wadi.htm). He also serves as a member of the JCP expert group for JSR- 243 (Java Data Objects 2.0) (http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=243).
