Applying Process Orchestration in SOA Applications

This session will provide guidelines, best practices, and a methodology to design and design application leveraging Process Orchestration in the SOA initiatives. The implementation areas will apply to large enterprise applications with multiple dependencies. Parallels between different applications of BPM products in typical scenarios will be covered and the leading vendor offerings in the market including FileNet, Savvion, Oracle BPEL Process Manager, IBM WPS, BEA WLI, jBPM, BizTalk, and others will be examined. Multiple aspects of process-based design and development will be covered including - vendor evaluation, conducting an appropriate proof of concept, putting together the appropriate team, process design, development, and maintenance. Process orchestration standards including JBI and BPEL, and XLANG will be covered in this session, as well as the stratum occupied by BPM products in technology platforms like Java EE and .NET.
The session will benefit senior developers, technical architects, team leads, IT managers, and others interested in learning about how to achieve success in large scale business process based projects. After attending this session, you will be able to address the challenges of process orchestration in the enterprise applications with confidence and with a structured approach. The concepts presented in this presentation will be illustrated through case studies addressing the application of BPM products in large enterprises.
About Ajit SagarAjit Sagar is a principal architect with Infosys Technologies, Ltd., a global consulting and IT services company. Ajit has been working with Java since 1997, and has more than 15 years experience in the IT industry. During this tenure, he's been a programmer, lead architect, director of engineering, and product manager for companies from 15 to 25,000 people in size. Ajit has served as JDJ's J2EE editor, was the founding editor of XML Journal, and has been a frequent speaker at SYS-CON's Web Services Edge series of conferences, JavaOne, and international conference.
