SOA Web Services Keynote: Bill Coleman, Founder and CEO of Cassatt
Coleman founded and was the first chairman and CEO of BEA Systems. Under his leadership, BEA became the fastest software firm ever to exceed $1 billion in annual revenue. As vice president of system software at Sun Microsystems, Coleman's team transformed SunOS into the commercially successful Solaris operating system. While at Sun he also founded Sun's Professional Services Division and co-founded Sun's Federal Division. With more than 30 years of i-technology experience, Coleman leads Cassatt’s seasoned executive team which averages nearly twenty-five years of experience per member.

Enterprise Open Source Keynote: by Marc Fleury of JBoss
Born in Paris in 1968, Marc Fleury got his Ph.D in physics from the Ecole Polytechnique in Paris. He started in Sales at Sun Microsystems France and then moved to the US where he worked on early java enablement of SAP at SAPLabs. Marc started the JBoss project in 1999. An ex-Lieutenant in the paratroopers, Marc holds a degree in Mathematics from the Ecole Polytechnique, a master in Theoretical Physics from the Ecole Normale ULM and was a visiting scientist at MIT during his thesis. Marc's research interest focuses on aspect oriented middleware.

Joel Spolsky, a software engineer and writer, is the author of Joel on Software, a popular weblog on software development. He was a Program Manager on the Microsoft Excel team between 1991 and 1994 and later founded Fog Creek Software (http://fogcreek.com ).

Brian Behlendorf, Co-Founder, Apache; Founder, CollabNet
Brian Behlendorf founded CollabNet, with O'Reilly & Associates, in July 1999. CollabNet provides on-demand distributed software development solutions and is the primary sponsor of the award-winning Subversion open source project. Before launching CollabNet, Behlendorf was co-founder and CTO of Organic Online, a Web design and engineering consultancy located in San Francisco. During his five years at Organic, Behlendorf helped create Internet strategies for dozens of Fortune 500 companies. During that time, he co-founded and contributed heavily to the Apache Web Server Project, co-founded and supported the VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) effort, and assisted several IETF working groups, particularly the HTTP standardization effort. Before starting Organic, Behlendorf was the first Chief Engineer at Wired Magazine and later HotWired, one of the first large-scale publishing Web sites. He is currently a Director of the Mozilla Foundation and a retired Director and President of the Apache Software Foundation. In 2006, Behlendorf was named a Young Global Leader, an affiliate program of the World Economic Forum. Among his many books are Open Sources: Voices from the Open Source Revolution, and Running a Perfect Web Site with Apache.

Miguel de Icaza, Mono Project, Novell
Miguel de Icaza is one of the foremost luminaries in the Linux development community and one of the world's most prominent advocates for Free Software. He founded the GNOME project and is since August 2003 when Novell acquired Ximian he has been Vice President of Developer Platforms for Novell, which in turn became the sponsor of the two top open source projects, GNOME for the desktop and Mono as an open source platform for running Microsoft .NET applications. Miguel was the first recipient of the prestigious MIT Innovator of the Year award in 1999. More recently, he received the 2005 STUG Award from USENIX in recognition of GNOME. He has galvanized efforts to make Linux accessible and available to the average computer user, and continues to reach out globally by working with international organizations to introduce affordable technology alternatives, like Linux, to other nations.
Mike Milinkovich, Executive Director, Eclipse Foundation
Mike Milinkovich is Executive Director of the Eclipse Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation supporting the Eclipse open-source community and commercial ecosystem. In the past, he has held key management positions with Oracle, WebGain, The Object People, and Object Technology International Inc. (which subsequently became a wholly-owned subsidiary of IBM), assuming responsibility for development, product management, marketing, strategic planning, finance and business development.
Bob Pasker, Co-founder, WebLogic, Inc.; now Deputy CTO, Azul Systems
Bob Pasker, who co-founded WebLogic and was the chief architect of the WebLogic Application Server, is currently the deputy CTO of Azul Systems. He has been designing and developing for 25 years and has provided technical leadership and management for numerous technologies. Bob graduated magna cum laude from San Francisco State University and holds a Masters degree from Brown University.

Jeff Barr, Web Services Technical Program Manager, Amazon.com
Jeff Barr is Amazon.com's Web Services Technical Program Manager. He focuses on helping the Amazon Web Services developer community achieve success in building innovative and successful businesses using Amazon.com data and technology. Jeff has held development and management positions at KnowNow, eByz, Akopia, and Microsoft, and was a co-founder of Visix Software. His outside interests include collecting and organizing news feeds using his own site, www.syndic8.com. Jeff holds a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the American University and has done graduate work in Computer Science at the George Washington University.

Israel Hilerio is a program manager at Microsoft in the Windows Workflow Foundation team. He has 15+ years of development experience doing business applications and has a PhD in Computer Science.
Philip Greenspun, MIT, Father of the Term "Web Services"
Phil Greenspun is an educator and early Internet entrepreneur who was a pioneer in developing online communities. A computer scientist, he is one of the founders of ICAD, Inc. and the founder of photo.net, a web site for sharing and discussing photography. When he is not flying airplanes and helicopters or traveling he teaches electrical engineering or computer science classes at MIT. Greenspun is generally consider to be the father of the term "Web Services." He is also responsible for Greenspun's Tenth Rule of Programming, a common computing aphorism that states: "Any sufficiently complicated C or Fortran program contains an ad hoc, informally-specified, bug-ridden, slow implementation of half of Common Lisp.
Dr Adam Kolawa, Founder & CEO, Parasoft
Adam Kolawa, co-founder and CEO of Parasoft, is considered to be a visionary in his field. In 1983, he came to the United States from Poland to pursue his Ph.D. In 1987, he and a group of fellow graduate students founded Parasoft to create value-added products that could significantly improve the software development process. Kolawa's years of experience with various software development processes has resulted in his unique insight into the high-tech industry and the uncanny ability to successfully identify technology trends. As a result, he has orchestrated the development of numerous successful commercial software products to meet growing industry needs to improve software quality - often before the trends have been widely accepted. Kolawa has been granted ten patents for the technologies behind these innovative products.As well as being the co-author of Bulletproofing Web Applications (Hungry Minds 2001), Kolawa has contributed to and written over 100 commentary pieces and technical articles for publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Java Developer's Journal, SOA Web Services Journal, CIO, and IEEE Computer; he has also authored numerous scientific papers on physics and parallel processing. His recent media engagements include CNN, CNBC, BBC, SYS-CON.TV and NPR. Additionally he has presented on software quality, trends and development issues at various industry conferences. Kolawa holds a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the California Institute of Technology. In 2001, he was awarded the Los Angeles Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the software category.
